Family, friends and the youth team he coached gathered at Texas Wesleyan University Wednesday night to celebrate the life of, Charles Trammell III, on what would have been his 21st birthday. His parents say they are comforted by the fact that he passed, “helping somebody.” Trammell was helping a friend change her tire, when a suspected drunk driver took his life. It’s a sad reminder NOT to drink and drive this holiday weekend or ever! – Starlene Stringer

Cleaning Up North Texas

The Trinity River is cleaner in Fort Worth this morning, because hundreds of volunteers spent the weekend picking up trash from the river banks. There was a lot! Remember this name, Alena Analeigh McQuarter. She’s doing big things! This summer, the 13-year-old college student from Fort Worth, became the youngest Black person ever to be accepted to medical school. She made history last year too, when she was the youngest person to ever intern with NASA. Which is fitting, because she is proving the sky is the limit!  – Starlene Stringer
