Sneak Peek: "Risen" is the Ultimate Manhunt

Coming to theaters February 19th, RISEN follows the Biblical story of the Resurrection, as told through the eyes of Clavius, a powerful Roman Military Tribune.  He must solve the mystery of what happened to Jesus in the weeks following the crucifixion, in order to disprove the rumors of a risen Messiah.

British actor Joseph Fiennes, whose résumé ranges from the Academy Award® winning Best Picture Shakespeare in Love to his role in the epic action film Hercules is bringing his talent to RISEN where he stars as Clavius, the Roman tribune tasked with hunting down the rumored risen Savior.  “When I read the script, I marveled at the fact that I’d just digested a biblical story that came across as an extraordinary murder mystery," said Fiennes. "The script kept me turning the pages without me really knowing how it would end, because when you see it through this fresh set of eyes, Jesus’ resurrection really is the mother of all murder mysteries.”

According to a report from Jesus Daily, Hollywood has been trying to sweep this movie under the rug. They even claim that one film studio was looking to purchase the rights to the movie solely for the purpose of making sure it was never released. But producers and the Christian public thought this movie too good not to hit the big screen.  After 10 years in the making, it was finally picked up by AFFIRM Films -- the faith based movie arm of Sony Pictures -- and will hit theaters January 22, 2016.
