     The Connor Cruise Foundation provides aid to families with children battling cancer and hosts special events to raise money for childhood cancer research.

     Grand Prairie Police Department ’s community programs works to improve police and public relations by offering programs in schools, and giving people access to speak with officers at coffee shops and barbershops too.

     The City of Irving partners with several non-profit organizations to help women needing to escape domestic violence. During the pandemic their efforts became more challenging due to financial stress, joblessness, and the threat of homelessness.


Restored Hope Ministries rescues women from trafficking and tackles the issues that keep in bondage. RHM offers housing, food, security, medical and dental aid, detox treatment, legal aid, education and financial aid to help women change their lives for the better.


This city is making a difference in the community with several special programs and events. That includes a Friendship Day which offers pay to GP employees who donate 4 hours a month to volunteer at non-profit organizations. They offer a health program called Get Fit Grand Prairie that challenges people to exercise and eat healthy. They have a program in schools and churches that unites citizens with police officers in hopes of improving relations and reducing crime.


The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is known for working to improve health and health care. In this interview they join us to discuss housing issues and finances. They say millions of Americans are at risk of losing their homes during the Covid-19 pandemic and they share ways Texans can avoid being evicted. This foundation is working to improve housing affordability and stability to advance health equity.


Homelessness effects people of all ages. This organization helps homeless, abused and neglected children get into foster homes and/ or get adopted. House of Shiloh also promotes positive parenting and education so that all children can achieve their full potential.



This non-profit offers a unique way for families to become or stay fit and educated while making healthy choices. It has walking trails throughout a display of thousands of flowers. They have healthy cooking demonstrations and a daily harvest that teaches gardening tips to those of all ages. To encourage children, they bring in special guests to teach tiny tot classes, they host summer camps and families are invited to explore the world of S.T.E.M. at the Rory Museum.


Helping families live heart healthy is the goal of this organization. Heart disease is the number one killer of both men and women in the America. Dr. Huynh teaches us the risk factors, warning signs, tells us about available testing and introduces us to lifestyle changes that can save lives.

Hope Women’s Center

This pregnancy crisis center provides aid to teens, men and women overwhelmed by all the responsibilities that come with parenthood. This ministry equips them with the tools they need to succeed in life, that includes education, jobs, food and health choices.

American Lung Association

The 22nd annual "State of the Air" report is out and  the air quality in Texas is unhealthy to breathe. ALA reps tell us who is most vulnerable to air pollution and shares steps we can take to move towards cleaner, healthier air and address climate control.
